Charity competition founded in Perth on 3 March 1888. The initial tournament saw five clubs invited - Fair City Athletic, St Johnstone, Erin Rovers, Caledonian Rangers (all fom Perth) and Bridgend Athletic.

The Perth Swimming Bath Badges was orgainised to help raise funds for the new local swimming baths

17 Apr Caledonian Rangers v St Johnstone 4-0 abandoned after 85 mins when Stewart of Caledonian refused to leave after being ordered off. The tie was awarded to St Johnstone
