Senior Border trophy awarded between 1896 and 1953.

The Paul Shield trophy was originally awarded to the winners of the Border League of 1896-1898 and Border Senior League from 1902-1923. In 1923-24 it was to be played on a knock-out basis but the competition was abandoned and the trophy was awarded to the winners of the East of Scotland League. Thereafter it was competed for as a, mainly incomplete, knock-out competition. It was subsequently awarded in the 1940s and 1950s to the top Border club in the East of Scotland League.
