1882-83 Greenock & District Cup Semi-final 27 Jan Morton v Lyle Athletic 6-3 XXXXXSouthern v Southern 2nd XI Final 17 Mar Morton v Southern 2-2 at Cappielow Park 31 Mar Morton v Southern 2-2 at West End Park Southern protested that one of Morton's goals should not have been awarded. The protest was dismissed and after Southern decided not to meet Morton for a second replay, the latter were awarded the cup.
